5k/10k Training Plan

(4 customer reviews)

Decided it is time to take the next step to smash those PB’s and finally get the speed you have always wanted to run a fast 5k or 10k? We want to bring a smile to your face (just like the one in the photo of me above) as you cross the finish line knowing you just ran faster than you ever thought you could.

My husband (and coach) Steve took me from a 21 minute 5k to 16 minutes within a few years and has made countless collegiate and post collegiate athletes achieve personal bests they never dreamed possible. 5k and 10k training is Steve’s favorite distance to coach, and it is where he really has perfected his program. Steve has always kept his training secret, but the king of peaking runners for when it matters is ready to share his secrets to success with you.

With this 16 week plan, we will build you up slowly to the 40-50 and 60-70 mile per week plan, don’t worry, you don’t need to be at the mileage numbers to start with! We will give you everything you need to get ready for a few goal races and go into them feeling confident and seeing improvements. This program is completely effort based, and during the 16 weeks, we will train you how to run by feel, so you can learn to trust your body to tell you what it is ready for, leaving you confident, prepared, and in the best shape of your life.

I highly recommend Tina’s training plans! They never become obsolete as they are based on effort and not on a certain pace. Effort based training also comes in handy on hilly courses or less than optimal weather conditions. I just used Tina’s 5k/10k training plan to race a hilly 10k in June. I made it to the start line injury free and ran a 2-minute course PR!

Great plan with very detailed description of the workouts. Was fun to follow.

Tina’s 5k/10k training plan has been incredibly helpful for me! Unlike any other plan I have seen, it uses the effort scale, with detailed descriptions that keep any runner on track to run their best race, irrespective of fitness level or prior achievements. Ranging from a workout recovery jog to maximise recovery between intervals, to a sprint or final effort in a race, Tina’s 5k/10k training plan explores both ends of the spectrum and all efforts in between, so that no runner will get bored or overtrained. Even when I am training for a half marathon, marathon or ultra, I “borrow” sessions from this plan to ensure that I run at the higher effort levels. I also use and recommend Tina’s half marathon and marathon training plans too!

    Very solid training plans.
